Pros and cons of City Guides by National Geographic app for iPhone and iPad

City Guides by National Geographic app good for

This app is great for kids. Also make more information about cities. But it will be more better if it had more cities and more information.
Useful application but a major bug for delete an item of an itinary its not possible ...
When GPS is on the app is always checking for location even if it is closed
This is definitly one of the best apps if we are talking about appdesign... You did a great job with that.. 4 cities is really a little bit to less but the app for his self is genius.. Perfect interface and ux design. Thanks for that inspiration.. But give us more for cities. Whats up with berlin.. ? So keep going. Thanks.
Contrary to the other reviews, this app is actually very nicely designed. The premium content is quite informative actually, with every POI having a poignant and useful description. The only gripe I have is that the maps in this app should be available offline - this feature is absolutely vital for a travel app, otherwise I wouldve given it a higher rating.
Please, create more city guides! At least add Amsterdam. Many thanks.

Some bad moments

downloaded the guide for NYC - the food&drink-guide only has 5 topics (pizza, bagels, bars, jazzclubs, gourmetshops). take the bars for example: only two chic&sleek bars. one could ask, if the author ever has been to new york...because everyone couldve written the informations about the sightseeings - but not for a food&drink-guide (which this is at well). though the flatdesign is neat...
Looks like an incomplete "proof of concept" where all the content still needs to be added. Useless.
What a disappointment for 4,49€!!! I expected beautiful pictures of London, but most of the spots dont have pictures, so you just keep reading tiles with no chance to get a first glimpse about the object. And thats the first intuitive decision you make - choosing points of interest just by their looks! Even in the details you can find only few pictures. The tips are poor, the only good things are the possibility of adding own routes and the recommended routes for 1, 2 days or routes for kids etc. The secrets sound interesting at first, but dont keep me hooked. Its also complicated to get all info about one spot. You need to switch constantly between tiles to get an overview. That costs much time and is not useful for planning a city tour. What is worse, the app keeps crashing, especially when you want to open the foto gallery, sometimes even just when youre using it.
This is stupid. 4 cities and you dont even get the full app. Costs $4.99 to upgrade. Stupid.
No idea what the premium content is like but the demo is lame indeed and certainly doesnt entice one to invest in the rest. Very desappointing. Had high hopes. Expect far more from Nat Geo.
Only 4 cities all at an extra cost. Too bad it is a great idea.
